Winter in southwest Montana is a season of snowflakes and enjoying the outdoors. But it’s also the perfect time to get warm and comfy indoors. Knoff Group Real Estate has assembled a list of our favorite cozy places to kick back and warm up in the Bozeman and Big Sky areas!

Blackbird serves up delicious Italian fare right on Main Street in downtown Bozeman. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy some delicious pasta and a glass of wine after holiday shopping activities. Make sure you book a reservation in advance – this place gets busy…fast!

Lockhorn Cider House specializes in crafting natural hard cider and features a super cozy tasting room and outdoor patio with a fireplace. During the chillier months, they steep a blend of cider and spices for alcoholic and non-alcoholic hot spiced cider – it’s so satisfying and warm!

Kimpton Armory Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel located in downtown Bozeman. You don’t have to be a hotel guest to enjoy their amenities. The rooftop bar Sky Shed is an amazing place to soak in the skyline of the Bridger Mountains at alpenglow, the cozy Tune Up basement bar and the delicious Fielding’s restaurant – there is plenty to enjoy here in a warm atmosphere.

Tips Up Big Sky is a super location for indoor winter fun in the Town Center of Big Sky. Partake in a fried chicken sandwich, play some shuffleboard, hit the slot machines and enjoy some live music. Fun in summer and winter, it’s a great place to enjoy an ice-cold beer.

The Old Saloon in Emigrant has been serving the cowboys and cowgirls of Paradise Valley since 1902. If you’re looking for a true “Montana saloon experience”, check out the American-style fare, drinks, and live music in both winter and summer. It’s about an hour drive from Bozeman, but well worth it for the amazing setting and unique experience.

A staple in Gallatin Gateway since 1937, Stacey’s Old Faithful Bar and Steakhouse is a casual western saloon with tasty food. Enjoy a cold brew, prime rib, and some live music at this not-to-miss authentic Montana experience.

Brigade in downtown Bozeman offers a French-inspired, upscale dinner experience. Featuring delicious craft cocktails, locally sourced entrees, and an open kitchen so you can watch the chefs prepare your meal. Special note – they have a great $3 happy hour every day from 3pm-6pm – don’t miss the oysters!

Open Range in downtown Bozemanboasts one of coziest atmospheres in Bozeman. This brasserie-inspired steakhouse prides itself on creating a unique fine dining experience with high-quality ingredients and handcrafted drinks. Try the bison tenderloin – it’s a favorite!

The Mint Café and Bar, located in downtown Belgrade, is one of the best eateries in the Gallatin Valley. With a large selection of beer, wine, and handcrafted cocktails – The Mint is a great place to grab a drink after a cold day outside. If you’re hungry, stay for a bite and try their pan-seared ora king salmon or one of their fab steaks.

Gallatin River Lodge just north of Four Corners is a cozy fishing lodge with a delicious restaurant open to the public. The dining experience is high end and the lodge offers overnight accommodations as well with close proximity to various outdoor winter amenities. The location, ambiance, and food at the Gallatin River Lodge are hard to beat!
