Knoff Group Presents: Bozeman’s Best Ice Cream Parlors

Summer is upon us here in Bozeman, which means it’s time to beat the heat. What’s better than enjoying a cold ice cream after a day on the river or a long day at work? Whether you’re looking for homemade huckleberry ice cream, delicious waffle cones, or even a milkshake – Bozeman has it all. So, follow along as Knoff Group Real Estate gets you the insider information on Bozeman’s best ice cream parlors.

#1 – Originally founded in Whitefish, Sweet Peaks prides itself delicious mountain made ice cream. There are now two Sweet Peaks ice cream locations in Bozeman – the first on 7th and Main Street and the other at the east end of Main Street. Both locations feature classic and rotating flavors so it’s always a surprise when you visit. Our personal favorite summer flavor is the Flathead Cherry Chocolate – a cultivation of Flathead Lake cherries, vanilla ice cream, and dark chocolate chunks. https://www.sweetpeaksicecream.com/

#2 – Genuine Ice Cream is a small-batch, hand-made ice creamery located in downtown Bozeman. Not only is their ice cream free of artificial colors and flavors, almost every ingredient is homemade from scratch in their west side Bozeman kitchen. They have two locations – a stand-alone shop on the west side of Main Street and a shop inside Main Street Market. Genuine rotates their flavors almost daily, so you never know what to expect! https://www.genuineicecream.com/

#3 – If you haven’t tried Michoacan A Pedir De Boca, you need to. They’re located off of 7th Avenue in downtown Bozeman and pride themselves on authentic ice cream with Mexican roots. Not only do they serve up homemade ice cream, but they also offer paletas, aguas frescas, and much more. Plus – if you’re wanting ice cream in a rush, they have a drive through. https://michoacanmexicanicecream.com/

#4 – Flavr is a “hip ice cream shop” located on Kagy Boulevard just minutes from downtown Bozeman. If you’re not feeling ice cream, they also serve up milkshakes, smoothies, and even bubble tea. They’re a relatively new small business, having opened in Fall of 2021 and have added some great flavors to the Bozeman ice cream scene. https://flavr.shop/

#5 – If you’re craving a sub sandwich and ice cream, head over to Pickle Barrel – located across from the Montana State University campus. While many know it for its award-winning sandwiches, Pickle Barrel also serves Wilcoxson’s ice cream, made locally in Livingston, MT.  https://picklebarrelmt.com/

#6 – The Chocolate Moose is a local, family-owned candy store in downtown Bozeman. Not only do they specialize in house-made chocolates, but they also have a refurbished old-time bobtail soda fountain – known for making delicious root beer floats. Or, try their locally-made Wilcoxson’s ice cream or scrumptious sundaes. https://www.thechocolatemoose406.com/

#7 – If you’re craving decadent Italian gelato, make your way over to Maven’s Market on W Main Street in downtown Bozeman. They feature delicious rotating gelato flavors that you can pair with a cheese board or even a grilled mozzarella panini. Sit down to enjoy in their small café or take it to go – either way, you won’t be disappointed. https://www.mavensmarket.com/
