Late spring has arrived (with a dash here and there of false winter) and it’s time to start thinking about gardening season! #5. Garden Barn has two locations in the Bozeman area. The larger location, a two-acre gardening haven is located on Gallatin Road right outside of Four Corners. The second location is located inside The Market at Ferguson Farm. Both locations offer a premium selection of houseplants, pottery, bedding plants, trees, shrubs, vegetable starts and more. #4. Wagner Nursery and Landscaping Co features locations in both Belgrade and Butte. Their greenhouse and nursery is home to one of the Gallatin Valley’s largest selections of annuals and vegetables, hand planted hanging baskets and a good variety of trees and shrubs. #3 Visser Greenhouse is home to the largest annual and perennial variety list in Montana. Located about ten minutes from Four Corners on the way to Norris, they mainly focus their operations on wholesale bedding plants, but do open up retail for a brief period in the spring. They offer a variety of plants, including annuals, herbs, perennials and vegetables with all of their soil made in house and is available for purchase. #2 Oak Gardens is known throughout the Gallatin Valley as the “hanging basket specialists” and is one of the largest retail nurseries in the area. They are located in between Belgrade and Bozeman on 8 acres with 5 greenhouses. In addition to hanging baskets, they also specialize in trees, shrubs, landscaping and helping you with any of your gardening needs. Over 90% or more of their plant material is grown from their own growing facilities. #1. Cashman Nursery is a full service, family-owned garden center located on Springhill Road, just minutes from downtown Bozeman. In addition to their nursery and landscaping products, they offer seminars throughout the year to educate people on various gardening tips. They host a Zucchini festival mid-summer – start your competition entries by end of May!
