The City of Bozeman is looking to expand its attractiveness as a hub for conventions in Montana. In many ways it makes sense – however, how involved does the City actually need to get in this process? We shall see what their opinion is on this as time progresses. Another viable option is the Event Center at the Fairgrounds. However, little effort is being invested at the top levels to get this idea rolling. The city is now looking at parcel of undeveloped land with Baxter Lane to the north, Patrick Street to the south and 11th Avenue to the east. The land is not in the urban renewal district now.

The possibility of a new convention center has the city of Bozeman considering an expansion of its North Seventh Avenue Urban Renewal District.
At their Monday night meeting, city commissioners agreed to contract with Community Development Services of Montana to assess the feasibility and appropriateness of the expansion.
Seeing a convention center built was on the long list of priorities City Manager Chris Kukulski presented to commissioners earlier this year. While it didn’t make the cut when commissioners whittled down the list, that project is one that city leaders said staff members could continue to work on when time allows.
